Boost ‘em in the Back Seat

Added on Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Washington’s current child passenger safety law has been on the books for three years as of July 1, 2010. Simply put, kids need to be in a car seat of some kind until 8 years old, unless that child is 4′ 9″ tall. That means older kids need to be in a booster seat until that height; until the seat belt fits them properly across the chest and over the hips, and they can ride sitting properly the whole duration of the trip.

A new video from Eastern Virginia Medical School gives us a fresh perspective on the importance of booster seat usage. The information presented is commensurate with Washington State laws and best practice recommendations. Click here to download the video.
