Mount Vernon — Skagit County EMS Commission has a new web site, www.skagitems.com.
The new site gives information to the community on services it provides, such as public CPR, car seat checks, injury prevention efforts, meeting and events. The site also provides pertinent information to emergency medical services personnel who work in the county.
The Skagit County EMS Commission is overseen by an advisory board of community officials and volunteers, with the Skagit County Board of Commissioners maintaining ultimate authority of direct oversight. The Commission coordinates, operates and maintains the county-wide EMS system, and contracts with providers in the county’s municipalities and rural fire districts. The Commission has operated with funds allocated by the Medic One Tax Levy since 1978.
Questions about services provided by Skagit County EMS can be directed to Commission Manager Earl Klinefelter at 428-3230.
