Public Training
Skagit County Medic One not only provides training to Emergency Responders, but also to the general public — the frontline in the Chain of Survival.
All classes are taught using curriculum from the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI). Participants who successfully complete the course will receive certification, valid for two years, from ASHI.
Class sizes are limited due to the available location space. It is necessary to sign-up for one of the following courses if you wish to receive this training. Please note that Skagit County EMS generally does not offer classes at places of business or for groups. Reservations generally will not be taken for a class until that class is at least three weeks away. Reservations can be made by calling Bill Craig at 428-3236, or by e-mail at billc@skagitems.com.
Public Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation & First Aid Training Courses
Proper public CPR and first aid buy those important first few minutes before emergency medical personnel arrive.
The Skagit County EMS Commission is proud to offer CPR and first aid training to Skagit County residents. We offer monthly classes in a different location in the county. The classes are taught in English. Efforts have been made to make these classes available at the best possible times and days of the week that would accommodate most people. For most of our courses, CPR and first aid are taught in conjunction over two, four hour sessions. Participants are encouraged to attend both sessions.
The Skagit County EMS levy allows the Commission to offer its CPR and First Aid classes for $20 per person ($10 until Aug. 1, 2010). This fee covers the cost of certification cards and materials. Click here for the 2010 New CPR Registration form.
Skagit County EMS Commission also regularly offers CPR classes at Skagit County high schools. For more information please call (360) 428-3236.
